Raccolta Degli Atti Dell' Assemblea Degli Israeliti di Francia e del Regno D'Italia, convocata a Parigi con decreto di S. M. I. E. R. del 30 Maggio 1806, by Diogene Tama. Milan: G.G. Destefanis, 1807. Italian. Survey of the convention of Jewish Congregations dignitaries from France and Italy and the "Paris Sanhedrin" decisions, by Diogene Tama.
On May 30 1806, in view of rising anti-Semitism in Alsace-Lorraine, Napoleon Bonaparte convened wealthy Jewish persons, rabbis and public figures in France and Italy. A dozen questions were presented to the audience which were aimed to check the attitude of Jews towards the French nation and in particular to examine whether there is a discrepancy between the Jewish religion and French Law. The answers were satisfactory and expressed the Jews' will to blur their national identity and to emphasize their affinity to France. In order to legalize the decisions taken by the convention, Napoleon ordered to convene the "Paris Sanhedrin" with the participation of rabbis and other Jewish figures. The Sanhedrin approved of the convention's answers and validated the decisions. 316, 116, [4] pp, 21.5 cm. Good condition. Stains, several tears. Minor damage to binding.

Report issued by the union of Jewish congregations in the Kingdom of Lombardo-Veneto. The delegation went to Vienna to meet with the heads of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. [Italy, 1843]. Italian.
Handwritten report, concluding the visit of the Jewish delegation in Vienna between May 29 and July 21, 1843. The goal of this visit was to present the abuse of rights granted to Jews in the Lombardo-Veneto area under the authority of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and a request to resume the rights granted to Jews during the emancipation of the late 18th cent.
The document outlines the new prohibitions imposed on Jews and the violation of rights (amongst them forbidding legal activity and the pharmaceutical profession, forbidding permanent residence for "new" families, forbidding Jewish teachers to teach non-Jews, and more). In addition the document describes in detail the difficulty with which the members of the delegation were faced while trying to meet relevant role holders in the Austro-Hungarian government , and meeting with key figures like, for example, Baron Salomon Rothschild (who met, on behalf of the delegation, the Foreign Minister of the Empire, Prince Klemens von Metternich). 29 written pp, 30 cm. Good condition. Staining. Minor tears.

Disḳuhrś, first periodical printed in Yiddish. Amsterdam: Yochanan Levy Rofeh printing press, 1797-1798. Issues 3-23.
Twenty booklets of Disḳuhrś", a periodical for "Protection of the New Community", published in Amsterdam in the years 1797-1798. Total of 24 issues were printed.
"The New Community" (name given to "Adat Yeshurun" congregation in Amsterdam), was the first Jewish reform community in Europe. The congregation was founded in 1797, and under the leadership of R' Izak Grannboom, introduced a reform in customs and prayers. The congregation could function in view of the new regime in Holland that separated state from religion and by doing so cancelled the authority which the community leaders had over its members. A dispute occurred between "Adat Yeshurun" congregation and the Jewish community leaders. This dispute is well reflected in the " Disḳuhrś" booklets. Except for the 24 booklets "for the Protection of the New Community", 16 booklets "for the Protection of the Old Community" in Amsterdam were printed (see "Kedem" catalogue no 15, item 510). 20 booklets, average size 22 cm. Fair-good condition. Stains, creases and tears.
