Collection of documents from the Estate of Haim Aharon Farchi (1877-1947) – Chairman of Jewish Consistories of Bulgaria and the Jewish Community in Sofia. Member of Bulgarian People’s Party, Member of the Bulgarian National Assembly, Member of Sofia City Council, and one of the heads of the Zionist Movement in Bulgaria. Farchi served as a Bulgarian representative at a number of Zionist Congresses and as a member of the Zionist Committee.
1. Magnificent Certificate given to Mr. Haim Aharon Farchi by the National Jewish Community of Sofia, March 1935. Bulgarian.
Two thick paper leaves, written in beautiful handwriting and decorated with colored illustrations. In the certificate the leader of the Jewish community thank Farchi for his activity on behalf of the country-wide Jewish community for forty years and for serving as the president of the community for many years. The certificate was presented to him on the conclusion of his term as president and his Aliya to Eretz Israel, “the land of his dreams”. [2] Leaves bound in a fine velvet case. 36 cm Good condition.
