The important book by the Hebraist and scholar Johannes Buxtorf (1564-1629), explaining Talmudic abbreviations. At the end of the book is a bibliography of about 300 works from the Literature of the Sages, an index of abbreviations appearing in the Mishna, a short review of the history of the Talmud and other parts.
[8] leaves, 335 pp, 16.5 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains. Creases. Folding marks to corners and blemishes. Tear to margins of title page and open tear to one leaf. On the inside of the front binding are handwritten notes (in Hebrew, Arabic, Greek and other languages). Worn and damaged binding, with tears to spine, corners and margins. A label is glued to the bottom of the spine.

Having gained success, the book was translated into several languages (including French, English and Hebrew) and used for years as an important source of information about the daily customs of the Jewish people.

The engravings are spread on entire pages and are accompanied by texts in Dutch and French. Some engravings are signed in the plate by the artists – Jan Veenhuysen and S. Webbers.

Upsala (Sweden), Lund (Sweden), Turku (Finland), Stockholm and other locations (a number of works from other countries), early 18th to mid-19th century (one booklet from 1679). The manuscript is bound in a leather binding with a title on the spine: "Jewish Antiquities 2". It seems that this is a volume with summaries of lectures written by an academy student in Wales.

A unique edition of the book Apparatus ad Biblia Sacra by the French theologian Bernard Lamy, being an introduction or guide to the bible. The text in this edition is printed on 20 sheets, and organized mostly in tree diagrams. The sheets are dedicated to different subjects, among them, biblical figures, the Temple, the Jewish calendar and holidays, and more. On the sheet dedicated to the Temple appears a sketch of the interior of Solomon's temple. The text on each sheet is surrounded by an ornamental frame. The Initial letters are also ornamented.
The sheets, approx. 35X47 cm, are folded in two and bound together in a vellum binding (the book has to be turned 90 degrees when one wishes to read it).
