This old manuscript was written using black and red ink which burned through the parchment and some of the material is only legible by how the ink burned through the paper. The glosses are in an old Ashkenazi style handwriting around the same period as the writing of the manuscript.
Portions of the Talmudic tractates of Berachot and Ketubot. Manuscript has not been researched. [It is possible that there is additional subject matter – Chiddushei HaRan?]
8 leaves. 30 cm. Parts of the manuscript have been pressed and restored by adding paper. The pages are not whole with much damage to text. Cloth binding with parchment spine.

Sefer HaPardes is handwritten by Rabbi Asher ben Chaim of Montsant [Spain end of 15th century]
A portion of the introduction to this book is on the halachot of blessings. This book was published about 25 years ago as a manuscript by Oxford University. Besides the Oxfoed copy, only one other copy of the manuscript is known, at the Ginsburg Collection located in the Moscow library.
Although it is only a portion of the manuscript it is an important remnant of a significant composition from Spain in which most of the author's manuscripts have been lost after the expulsion from Spain in 1492.
This item is accompanied by a letter from Professor Shlomo Tzuker, a leading expert on Jewish manuscripts, to validate its authenticity.
4 Pages. 29.5 cm. Clear good quality paper. Slight damage to the wide margins

An antique copying of a responsum on the topic of the laws of levirate marriage and dowry of the wife of Rabbeinu Unshchin's convert brother, was sent to Rabbi Yisrael from Rabbeinu Unshchin (Asher ben Reb Yishayahu) who was of the greatest Torah Sages of the 15th century.
Rabbeinu Unshchin, Asher ben Yishayahu, died in the year 1483. He was considered of the greatest torah sages of the Ashkenaz community in the latter part of the Rishonim period. His contemporaries were amongst others were the “MaHaril” and the “Terumot HaDeshen”. Moving to Italy, he established a yeshiva in the city of Padua. After the passing of Rebbeinu Unshchin, his student and disciple, Rabbi Yehuda “MaHari Mintz” who was the son in law of the Ma’Haram of Padua became the head of the yeshiva. The “MaHari Mintz” died in the year 1509 at the age of 100.
As for Rabbeinu Yisrael to whom this letter was addressed, we are not clear exactly who he was. We believe that it would be either the Rabbeinu Yisrael of Braunau (1400 – 1480) or it could be Rabbeinu Yisrael Isserlin, the author of Terumot HaDeshen (1390 -1460).
2 Pages. 17.5 cm. Ashkenazi writing. Good Condition. Margins have been restored but no damage to the text.
This item is accompanied by a letter from Professor Shlomo Tzuker, a leading expert on Jewish handwritten manuscripts, to validate its authenticity.

A page out of the book of Job chapter 41 verses 5-25, with a translation into Arabic by Rabbi Saadia Gaon al-Fayyūmi [Yemen 18th Century]
Upon expert analysis the handwriting is that of Rabbi Shalom Shabazi (1619-1695) of the great poets and scholars of Yemen.
This is a rare piece both because of the identity of the writer, and since Rabbi Saadia Gaon's manuscripts of translations of the Ketuvim are rare. Rarest of them all is his translation of Job.
This item is accompanied by a letter from Professor Shlomo Tzuker, a leading expert on Jewish handwritten manuscripts, to validate its authenticity.
2 Pages. 20 cm. Poor to fair condition. Stains. Physical deterioration with pieces missing from margins. Restored professionally.
