The weekly newspaper "Die Welt", founded by Theodor Herzl, was published during the years 1897-1914. At first it was printed in Vienna, and from 1906, in Berlin. The weekly published articles about Zionism the state of Jews worldwide and Jewish literature and art, and became the official mouthpiece of the Zionist
Movement. 4 volumes, approx. 31 cm. Condition varies. Stains and tears. Dedication in one of the volumes. Issues of first year are bound with original wrappers. Name inscribed: "Vaad HaGvirot LeChagigot Purim…" [Antwerp, Belgium]. The inscription was added in Vienna in April, 1904, several years after the foundation of the JNF. The certificate is signed twice (in Hebrew and in German) by Jonah (Johann) Kremenezky, industrialist and Zionist activist, first chairman of the JNF (1902-1907), initiator of JNF fund raising (Blue Box, Stamps, and "Golden Book"). 45X60.5 cm. Fair condition. Many stains. Dark paper. Creases. Tear of approx. 15 cm, pasted with adhesive tape (old). Framed.

Printed within the circle are the Isaiah prophecy (Isaiah 61:7, in Hebrew and Russian), the zodiac and a calendar for 1922-23. Between the columns appears a list of "institutes in the Zionist chamber in Harbin, Artilirisky Street 22", with names of persons in charge of each institute; below the list appear important dates in Zionist history from the first Congress to the British Mandate declaration by the League of Nations. The book describes the visit of Moses Montefiore and his wife in Vilnius. The name of the author is missing from the Hebrew title page, but appears on the English one – Chajim Salomon Eliaschewicz. Nonetheless, the book is attributed by some to by the Jewish-Lithuanian author and scholar Isaac Mayer Dick. Hebrew title page printed in golden ink. 62, [1] pp, 14.5 cm. Good condition. Stains and an open tear (restored) to first leaf. New binding.
