Advertisement poster for the film Purpur und Waschblau (Her Highness, the Laundress) in "Eden" cinema, 1933.
A nice colorful illustration – portrait of the star, the Austrian actor Hansi Niese.
An inscription above the illustration: "Eden this summer…on Saturday night 15.VII.33 and during the week, (a) ’Paramont’ world news, (b) the great Austrian film demonstrating the great talents of the Viennese theater…" (Hebrew).
The film "Purpur und Waschblau", a romantic comedy directed by Max Neufeld was first screened in Austria in 1931. Approx. 63X123 cm. Fair condition. Creases, tears and wear. Ink-stamp. Linen-backed (upper and lower parts slightly separated from linen). The linen is attached to two pieces of wood (top and bottom).

The posters portray a large figure of a soldier with three workers next to him. Presented are three versions from the printing process; each with an addition of color (without the final version in which dark green also appears). In the first version appear corrections and markings in pencil (including a note which suggests to locate the logo “Sherut Avodah” on the left, while in the end it was printed on the right). 61.5X93 cm; 70X100 cm; 62X91 cm. Overall good condition. Tears at margins. Miniature holes
at corners.
