1. Postcard printed in Jerusalem, with photo of three Jews (produced by Albina et Nicodéme). Two short handwritten greetings appear on the front, one in Hermann Struck's handwriting and the other handwritten by Adolf Friedman (signed: Aday). Adolf Friedman was one of the leaders of the German Zionist Association and came to Eretz Israel in 1903 on behalf of Theodor Herzl, in order to examine the possibility of settling Haifa and the Jezreel Valley. His friend the artist Hermann Struck joined him on this trip (the joint trip resulted in a book titled Reisebilder aus Palästina where texts by Friedman appeared with etchings by Struck). On the reverse of the postcard appear the name and address of the receiver – Dr. Bodenheimer in Cologne – i.e. Dr. Max Isidor (Yitzchak Bodenheimer) chairman of German Zionist Association, second chairman of JNF and one of the founders of the World Zionist Organization. On the reverse also appears an ink-stamp of Hotel Lloyd in Jerusalem (Fast & Co.).
2-6. Attached are five postcards with photographs of Jerusalem, three are undivided and were printed in honor of the Emperor's visit in 1898; one with the photo of the railway station and one produced by Eliyahu Brothers. Condition varies.
