Six early "shanah tovah" postcards and greeting cards. USA, Europe and Palestine, [1881 to the first decades of the 20th century].
Included: • Undivided "shanah tovah" postcard, published by Foster-Co., USA, 1881. • Undivided "shanah tovah" postcard, with greeting in Hebrew and in French, printed in black and gold. [Germany, late 19th century]. • "Shanah tovah" greeting card issued by the Misgav Ladach hospital committee. Jerusalem, [ca, early 20th century]. • Undivided Russian postcard, featuring an illustration of a postman carrying a letter. A removable, folded strip of paper (placed under the postman's arm) is printed with greetings in Hebrew and in Yiddish. Postmark from 1910. • "Shanah tovah" postcard with a folding, book-shaped flap, beneath which is an accordion-folded strip of paper bearing pictures of Hebrew and Yiddish authors. [Poland, ca. 1920s]. • "Shanah tovah" greeting card with a folding flap, beneath which is an accordion-folded strip of paper bearing pictures of prominent women in Jewish history.
