Manuscript, Tzedah LaDerech, Kabbalistic composition on the Five Books of the Torah. By Rabbi Zecharya son of Se'adya (Yichye son of Sa'id) al-Dhahiri. [Yemen 18th century]. On the last leaf is a colophon (erased) by the scribe Rabbi Salem son of Saliman Tanami – Rabbi Shalom son of Shlomo Tanami, a known Yemenite scribe from the 1780s, see Encyclopedia L'Chachmei Teiman p. 647. In some places are glosses by several writers and ownership inscriptions. [143] leaves. 23.5 cm. Fair condition, wear and stains, (open) tears to several leaves. New fabric binding. Provenance: This manuscript is from the collection of Dr. I. Mehlman and is mentioned in the Encyclopedia L'Chachmei Teiman p. 647, see enclosed photocopy. On the endpaper is an inscription in the handwriting of Dr. Mehlman: "Apparently, not printed" – Although this composition has already been partially printed in the Taj edition of Keter Torah (Jaffa, 1940), and fully in the Taj edition of Avkat Rochel, published by Yosef Chassid, (Jerusalem, 1991).
