Two volumes, complete manuscript, attractive and elaborate, Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim, with Shetilei Zetim, by Rabbi David Mashraki Mizrachi. [Yemen, 19th century]. The author: Rabbi David Mashraki Mizrachi (1696-1771), a leading Yemenite scholar from the 18th century, founder of the Shami version, traditionally used by many Yemenite Jews for prayers and halachic customs according to the rulings of the Shulchan Aruch. His composition Shetilei Zetim on the Shulchan Aruch is the primary halachic book used by Yemenite Jewry. Until the end of the 19th century, this composition was distributed only as handwritten copies until it was printed in two different editions in Jerusalem.
