Elegant jewelry box. Eretz Israel, [late 19th century].
Olive wood; printing; bone; cloth lining.
Octagonal wooden box with a double lid: lower lid, octagonal (hinged; hinge is missing) and upper lid shaped as a dome (removable). Delicate lines are engraved on the dome, topped with a decoration made of bone. The inscription "Jerusalem" is printed on the octagonal lid. Body of the box is carved with fine details depicting the arches decorating the outside of the structure and its openings. Height: 16.5 cm, width and length: 15.5X15.5 cm. Fair-good condition. Handwritten signature within the dome: Jerusalem. Hinge is missing. Cracks to dome repaired with glue (inside). Slight damages to wood.

1. Spice container. Round and hollow body on which the inscription "Besamim… Jerusalem" (Hebrew and English) is printed. Screw-on bell shaped lid. Pinholes decorated with ornamental circles. Height: 15 cm, max. diameter: 6.5 cm. Good condition. Slight damages and breaks.
2. Goblet. Image of the Dome of the Rock is carved in front with a printed inscription: "Mekom Hamikdash" (Temple Mount). Additional inscription: "Jerusalem (Hebrew and English). Height: 13 cm, diameter of rim: 7.5 cm. Cracks at base.

1. Spice container. Massive body, barrel-like, with carved images of the Western Wall and "Ir Zion". Screw-on lid, hollow, with ornamentations of piercings and circles. Height: 12 cm, max. diameter: 7 cm. Fair-good condition. Several cracks and breaks. Loose screwing.
2. Rectangular tobacco box, hinged lid. On the lid– a carved image of the Western Wall. Printed inscription: "Western Wall" (Hebrew), "Souvenier de Jerusalem". 8X4.5 cm. Good condition.

1. Elegant spectacles case. The inscription "Mount of Olives" (Hebrew) appears on the outer side. With ornamentation in the shape of spectacles, composed of inlaid pieces of wood. The inside of the case features a metal frame and is covered with delicate cloth in the shade of olive-green. 15.5X4.5 cm. Good condition.
2. Coin purse. The inscription "Jerusalem" (English and Hebrew) and "Zion" (Hebrew) appears on the outside, as well as a carved image of the Dome of the Rock. The inside is covered with blue cloth. 5X7.5 cm. Good condition.
3. Small round box with a moveable cover. On the cover – inscription: "Jerusalem". Diameter: 7 cm. Cracks.

Album with approx. 185 photographs (mounted on cardboard pages), taken during a private journey in the north of Eretz Israel, Lebanon, Syria and Switzerland, [late 19th century, ca.1875-1885].
The album contains about 45 photographs of Eretz Israel portraying, among others, Tiberias (the town and its surroundings), Kineret, Bedouines near the Hula, Druze in Upper Galilee, Jordan River (next to Dan), the village of Jauni (later: Rosh Pina), Bnot Ya'akov Bridge, view from a tent erected by the travelers near the Banias and inhabitants living in the area, the Jordan River sources (Banias), Mount Hermon, Majdal Shams, and the travelers tent camp (some of the photographs are panoramic). Further in the album appear approx. 54 photographs from Syria and Lebanon (Damascus, Beirut, and other locations) and ca. 80 photographs from a Ski-vacation in Davos. Several additional photographs are enclosed at the end of the album, including two panoramic photographs which were most probably taken in the North of Eretz Israel. Size varies, average size: 9X12 cm, to 9X30 cm (panoramas). Album: 27.5X38 cm. Photographs in good condition. Several photographs detached. Album in fair-good condition: lacking
