Envelope with 9 "HaDo'ar HaIvri" stamps (no tabs), with a postal ink stamp of 16.5 1948. David Ben-Gurion's signature was added on the envelope, in pen, in Hebrew and in English.
The first "Do'ar Ivri" series of stamps was designed by Otte Wallish (1906-1977), right after the declaration of independence. The series consists of ten different stamps and bear the inscription "Do'ar Ivri" since during the printing of the stamps the official name of the state of Israel was not yet determined.
Envelope 10X19 cm. Good condition.

22 documents from the estate of minister Bechor-Shalom Sheetrit, 1940s through 1960s.
Bechor-Shalom Sheetrit (1895-1967) was the first Minister of Police in the young State of Israel. Apart from his public and legal involvement during the Yishuv period, he was a member of Minhelet HaAm and one of the Independence Scroll signatories (the only one who was born in Eretz Israel). Served as a Knesset Member six times and quitted this position only one month prior to his death. Was the first Minister of Police from the days of the provisional government (May 1948) until his retirement and served as Minister of Minority Affairs during the existence of this office. Served as a member of the Judges Appointment committee from the day it was founded until his very last day. Throughout his service as a Knesset Member, he served several times as Minister of Postal Services. Shitrit was the Minister who held the same office for the longest time (18 years and a half).
The collection includes: a typewritten letter, signed by David Ben-Gurion, addressed to "all of the government members", concerning a leak to "Yediot Ahronot" newspaper of the contents of a meeting between the American Secretary of State John Foster Dulles concerning the evacuation of Gaza and Sharm-el Shiekh (January 1, 1957). • A typewritten letter from Moshe Dayan, signed. • A short report regarding the establishment of an "institute for integration of exiles in Israel". Mira Avrech (1925-2013) was a journalist, author of the popular gossip column "Miri Avrech tells about men and women" in "Yediot Achronot" paper. Her writing was said to be fair and not offensive. Among her close friends were Pola and David Ben-Gurion, ambassadors and diplomats, as well as high officials and generals, who were often her guests.
Among the documents: two notes from David Ben-Gurion (hand written, signed, from 1968 and 1970, with adhesive tape). Collection includes about 40 letters and postcards sent to David Trietsch and about the same number of letters sent to his wife Emma (Mina) née Thomaschensky; several letters handwritten by Trietsch, to his relatives; several letters addressed to Emanuel Trietsch, David's son, (water engineer in Israel) or to his family; several family photos. The letters were not thoroughly examined.
David (David) Trietsch, native of Dresden 1870, participated in the first Zionist Congress and in following ones, member of the Congress executive board; in cooperation with Berthold Feivel, Martin Buber and Leo Winz, founded, in 1900, the monthly periodical Ost und West and in cooperation with Otto Warburg – the monthly periodical "Palestine". Founded in 1903, with some friends, the "Juedisher Verlag" and the "Oriental Settlement Society" which promoted his plan to settle Jews in Cyprus (during the Uganda Plan initiative). Passed away in Eretz Israel in 1935 and was interred in "Ramot HaShavim".

Rehavia Moussaief owned an empire of jewelry and pearls and travelled abroad quite often. Among the documents: a notebook "Antiques and real estate and objects", letters from family members related to business from all over the world, a contract in Arabic from the Turkish period, commercial documents concerning jewelry, permits for entry and departure from Palestine and personal documents.
