Yung Yiddish,Yung Yiddish Publishers, Lodz, 1919.
Complete set, six issues in three booklets (no further issues printed): ershter boygn, Purim 1919 (printed in 350 copies, numbered); tsveyter-driter boygn, Pesach, 1919 (printed in 400 copies, numbered); Ferter-finfter-zekster boygn, Winter of 1919 (printed in 500 copies, numbered).
The illustrated publications of "Yung Yiddish" (1919-1923) are testimony to the synthetic searches of Broderzon and his group. One of the main achievements in this field was the "Yung Yiddish" Almanac, published during 1919. The desire for harmony and mutual influence between text and graphics, for erasing the borders between literature and art, is expressed by the almanac's sub-title: "lider in vort un tseykhenungn" (Poems in word and drawing), and by the format, which interweaves illustrations with text. The three booklets of the almanac are reminiscent of the Russian futurists' books; as in those futuristic publications, the graphics of "Yung Yiddish" does not serve a graphic purpose but, generally, is an independent element of the almanac.
8:16;28; pp, 34 cm. Generally – in good condition. Dry and fragile paper. Tears at borders, detached leaves. Stains. Very rare. Only few complete sets are known to exist.
