Arik Einstein is an Israeli singer-songwriter and actor. During his long and fertile career, began at the MB The Nahal Brigade Band, Einstein became an icon of Israelism, marking both quality and the popular. During the 1970s Einstein, together with Shalom Hanoch and the rock group the Churchills, created a new Israeli sound which was influenced by Anglo-American rock and roll. Beyond his warm and tender voice and the hundreds of songs he recorded, including a multi album project of new versions for Israeli classics, Einstein's contribution to Israeli music was his unique ability to work with other artists, writers and musicians. He enabled them to create some of the masterpieces of modern Hebrew music. His contribution to the cinema and acting in Israel is constitutive; beside his excellent acing performances in Uri Zohar's films "Big Eyes" and Metzitzim, he was a partner in creating a new colloquial Israeli language, simple and authentic, which stood in contrast to the artificial, censored and literary language which was dominant in Israeli cinema.

The photographs are from the middle of the 1960s until the end of the 1970s. the photographs are with and many other artists (among them): Shalom Hanoch, Richie Havens, Yafa Yarkoni, Tzvi Shissel, Yoni Rechter, Mickey Gavrielov, with his family, a collection of portraits, in performances and with different ensembles. Meir Ariel was an Israeli singer-songwriter.
As a native born Kibbutznick and as a son of a Bible teacher, Ariel absorbed in his childhood and youth the Kibbutz culture and the knowledge in the Hebrew language and tradition. This combination served Ariel as an endless spring of innovative linguistic and lexical phrases and idioms, which he used to describe in a most precise way, the Israeli crisis as he experienced it at the end of the 1960s. In 1967, after his war experiences (he was one of the first paratroopers who occupied the Western Wall), he responded immediately and directly to the victory messianic rejoice and to the spreading euphoria, and in response to the popular song of Noami Shemer, "Jerusalem of Gold", he wrote and performed a version of his own to the same tune, with the title "Jerusalem of Iron", in which he expressed the dark and bitter sides of the war. Ariel intention wasn’t understood and the press gave him the nickname "the singing paratrooper" which he rejected as a gimmick.
After a long stay in the US, where he was influenced deeply by Bob Dylan, he returned to Israel, and in a series of complex poetic and troubadourian albums he exposed new dimensions of Israeli culture and the Hebrew language.
His first and most successful album, Shirey Chag Umoed Venofel [Songs of holiday and falling commemorative day] from 1978, includes one of the most significant texts of Israeli song writing, "Song of Pain", in which he represented the emotional stress of the occupation. In that song appears one of his most quoted lines: "At the end of every sentence that you utter in Hebrew / sits an Arab with a narghile / even if it begins with Siberia / or with Hollywood, with Hava Nagila."
In the last decade of his life, which came to an end prematurely, he was drawn into Jewish tradition and dwelled into "poetic" Torah studies and even practiced several basic instructions in a "sporty" manner as he defined it. This new religious experiences had explicit impact on his late albums and works, in which he confronted the digital age which he perceived as apocalyptic.
14 photographs of Meir Ariel.
Two portrait photographs of Ariel in Kibbutz Mishmarot (early 1970s); Ariel in IDF uniforms gather firewood in Hebron; in performance with his band, with various artists and with his wife Tirtza.

Shlomo Artzi is an Israeli folk rock singer-songwriter, and composer. He began his career at the Naval Corps Band and in 1970 he had the opportunity to take part in the Israeli Song Festival, a prestigious song contest held every year. Still in military service and wearing a military uniform, he sang Pitom Achshav, Pitom Hayom (Suddenly Now, Suddenly Today), also known as Ahavtiha (I loved her), and won the first prize. After a short period of crisis he began a long acoustic tour all over Israel. Since the end of 1970s Artzi transformed into a pop and soft rock artist and inserted personal and associative elements into his lyrics. This style made him since the end of the 1980s an icon of an authentic Israeli man; sensitive, emotional, but in control. He won the Israeli Song Festival again in 1973. For his success and influence on Israeli culture he received in 2012 a doctorate of honor from Haifa University.

Henrik Zvi "Svika" Pick (written also: Tzvika Pik, Tsvika Pick) is a pop singer and composer. He was born in Wrocław, Poland, to a family of musicians. Already at the age of 5 he studied classical music which he continued to study after his arrival to Israel, at the Conservatory of Ramat Gan and soon after began to perform (at age 15) in "tempo bands" . It is possible that the fact that his musical style and popularity emerged from the night clubs of Ramla, was the main reason for the negative criticism which even ridiculed him. In his early career LCW coverage was the only "good press" he received, and it defiantly have an important role in his "starization" and promotion. Since the end of 1970s, Pick proved time after time his extraordinary talent in composing and performing megahits which became classics. In 2011 he received The ACUM Life Achievement Award.
57 photographs and 60 colored negatives of Tzvika Pik.
The photographs are from the end of the 1960s, the 1970s and early 1980s. amongst others: portraits, in rehearsals and recordings, in performance and with various artists. The negatives are varied, from different sessions in different stages of his career, mainly for posters and magazine covers.
