Certificate given to a donor to the Magbit HaBitachon [Security Fund]. Italy, May 15, 1948.
The emergency "Security Fund" conducted by the "Haganah" was aimed at collecting money to acquire arms and to finance the War of Independence. The caption on the certificate reads, "Per la vita, per l'onore, per las difesa d'Israele" [To Life, Honor and the Defense of Israel]. 34.5x25 cm. Very good condition. Folding-marks, minor creases, a few very minor losses along the margins professionally restored.

2. Calendar for 1946-47. On the cover: "From American Joint Distribution Committee".
3. Calendar for 1947-48, 5708. The emblem of the Joint appears on the cover with a biblical verse and an illustration of the people of Israel on their way to their homeland. On the inside of the cover appears the writing: "United States Jewry and the Joint send their greeting to She'erit HaPleita and wish for the New Year a new and fresh life in the Land of the Fathers, the director of the Joint Mr. Charles Passman and the director of 'Religious Office' Rabbi Shlomo Shapira".
