Passover Hagadah. Abadan, Iran-Iraq, 1945.
Non-traditional Hagadah, stenciled, with illustrations.
Many references to the Holocaust on pages 5-6. It seems that this Hagadah was printed for the soldiers of Military Engineering Company 870, which was appointed to operate mechanical equipment in Syria. In the year 1945, the headquarters and one platoon were sent to Iraq, and were stationed in the Shaibah area where they performed various duties in the Abadan refineries area. When the command of Iraq and Persia was eliminated, the platoon cleared mechanical equipment from Iraq to bases in Israel and Egypt. The proximity of Abadan to the beach is implied in the illustrations on the cover while the buildings resemble refineries. [2], 7, [1] leaves, 22X16.5 cm. Front and back cover as well as first leaf - printed on bluish paper. Good condition. Foxing-marks at borders of all leaves. Minor tears at borders of leaves and cover. Tear of 6 cm at border of front cover.

Vendֳ©g Konyo [Guest Book]. Transylvania (printed in Oradea -"Nagyvֳ¡rad"), 1940s.
Thick guest book with leaves divided into tables, designated for registering names and information about people. The book served as a register for a systematic recording of names of Jews, Holocaust survivors, in a certain checkpoint in Transylvania (maybe in Oradea) after the Holocaust. It is possible that it was some kind of a sanatorium or a temporary camp (no definite venue or date are mentioned). The records in the register were entered between July 6 and January 5 and judging by the names and places where people arrived from, it is evident that it was done during the second half of 1945 until the beginning of January 1946, when World War II ended and the Jews of Transylvania returned to their homeland.
Information, meticulously entered, includes: serial number, date (day and month), first name and family name, name of place where the person came from, place of birth, destination and number of days the person stayed in this place.
The register consists of 861 pages. Details of six people were entered on each page; the book, therefore, includes detailed records about 5166 Holocaust survivors. Amongst the names of places where people came from are names of concentration and labor camps, names of cities and of temporary Displaced Persons camps: Theresienstadt, Mauthausen, Lenzing, Stutthof, Nordhausen (Dora-Mittelbau), Linz, Magdeburg, Waldenburg, Leipzig, Danzig, Lodz, "Alten Camp", "Welden Camp", Kratzau (Chrastava), Pozsony, Feldfing, Spandau and more.
1000 pp, (861 written), 30.5X21.5 cm. Good condition. Creases and stains to first and last leaves. Cardboard and cloth binding - worn, fair-good condition.
