Owner signature: “I purchased this from the estate of the deceased Rabbi Leib Teomim. Hirsch”. This is the signature of the Ga’on Rabbi Naftali Hirsch [of the Katzenelenbogen family] author of Sha’ar Naftali. Among giants of his generation, rabbi of Frankfurt am Oder [following demise of the Pri Megadim] and later Av Beit Din in Vintzheim and chief rabbi of Upper Reine (passed away in 1823, Otzar Harabbanim 16238). Rabbi Naftali Hirsch Katzenelenbogen author of Sha’ar Naftali, nephew of Rabbi Naftali Hirsch son of Rabbi Moshe Katzenelenbogen, Av Beit Din in Paplotz (see item 300).
