Historical novel about a young Jew, set in Europe during the Thirty Years' War, by R. Shlomo HaKohen of Prague. Originally written in German (under the name Gawriel; Historische Erzaehlung aus dem dreissigjaehrigen Kriege), translated by R. Yisrael Dov Frumkin. First printed in HaChavatzelet, 1874.
On interior of front wrapper, printed dedication by the translator (Yisrael Dov Frumkin), filled out by hand.


[1], 98, [1] leaves (including printed front and back wrapper). Misfoliation. 14.5 cm. Dry, brittle paper. Good-fair condition. Stains. Marginal tears to title page and other leaves, partially repaired with paper. Title page and another leaf partially detached. Small open tear to front wrapper. New leather binding.
