Letter from Rabbi Meir Abuchatzira, rabbi in Midelt (Morroco), 1950.
Written in his handwriting, with signature, on official stationery.
Rebbe Meir Abuchatzira (d. 1883) was a son of the holy kabbalist Rabbi Israel, the Baba Sali. He was a holy kabbalist, great in Torah and wisdom, and known as Baba Meir. He served as Rabbi of Midelt, Morocco, next to Meknes, but lived most of his life in ascetic service of G-d, barely leaving his home, until his great father modestly said that R' Meir was greater than him. His home in Ashdod was a magnet which drew Torah scholars, Rabbis, and Rashei Yeshiva, to seek advice and inspiration. His sons are the well-known Rebbes of the Abuchatzira family: Rabbi Elazar in Be'er Sheva, Rabbi David in Naharia, Rabbi Yekutiel and Rabbi Rafael.
21 cm. Fair-poor condition, pasted on different paper. Tears on paper and folding marks, with slight omission to text. Foxing. Most of the text is present, despite damage.
