Rabbi Aryeh Leib Malin (d. 1962) was among the "lions" of the Mir yeshiva in Poland, and editor of the writing of Mashgiach R' Yerucham. In the holocaust years, he was one of the rabbis who stood at the yeshiva's helm during its "exile" in Japan and later Shanghai, China, together with the dean Rabbi Chaim Shmuelevitz. When he reached the US, he established the Beit HaTalmud yeshiva (1948) together with his friends Rabbi Shmuel Charkover (see item 291) and Rabbi Chaim Wissoker. His novellae were published under the name Chidushei Rabbi Aryeh Leib, and they are a fundamental part of in-depth learning in all yeshivot.
