The story of Samson, including the original text from the Hebrew Bible with English translation. Illustrations incorporated in the text and 20 original etchings, signed and numbered, by Viennese artist Ernst Fuchs (some etchings are double-spreads).
The book consists of unbound signatures in a cardboard portfolio, held in original stiff cardboard case. Numbered copy, 81/90, out of an edition of 100 copies. Artist's signature on colophon.
Ernst Fuchs (1930-2015) - painter, printmaker, sculptor and architect. Born in Vienna to a Jewish father and lived most of his life there. His artistic style tended towards surrealism and fantasy. Fuchs founded the Viennese school of fantastic realism and often portrayed Biblical motifs.
