Two books; A German edition and a French edition of an anthology of prose, poetry and prints donated by authors, among them Herman Hesse and Israel Zangwil, and artists, among them Albert Guss and Steinlen, all from West Europe, to Russian children in famine-ravaged areas. Publication of this anthology was initiated by the diplomat, explorer and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, Fridtjof Nansen.
French edition: 198 pp + [1] printout plates. German edition: 204 pp + [10] printout plates, 22.5 cm. Good condition. Stains. Some tears to margins of leaves of the German edition. Tears to spine of French edition. Spine of French edition is torn and mostly lacking. Prints in color and black and white, part of which are mounted on leaves. One additional print is included in the consecutive pagination.
