Two Bristol leaves, a unique souvenir from the Cyprus internment camps: * photograph of one of the camps, with a dedication handwritten in pencil, July 1946. On the reverse appears a dedication in an artistic handwriting and illustrations in water color in red and orange: "For Pinchas! In remembrance of the days when members of our movement were deported to the camps in Cyprus, Haim Bargal, December 20, 1946". * A remarkable illustration of the Cyprus Internment Camp, water color on Bristol paper, signed in Russian.
Haim Bargal (1922-1985) - native of Koritz - during World War II fled from the Ghetto and joined the Partisans. When the war ended he left the refugee camps and on his way to Eretz Israel was deported to the Internment Camps in Cyprus. Member of Kibbutz Sha'ar HaGolan since 1947; fought in the War of Independence. Bristol-paper leaves 18X24 cm. Good condition. Minor tears and wear.
