Ownership signatures, ownership notations of various authors (signed) who note that the book belonged to Rabbi Yosef Dover Rosh Yeshiva of Volozhin Yeshiva. Notation signed by Rabbi “Chaim Hillel son of Rabbi Shay” [Fried] stating that the book belonged to Rabbi Y. L. Efron [father-in-law of the Beit HaLevi].
The “Beit Halevi” – The Ga’on Rabbi Yosef Dov Halevi Soloveitchik [1820-1894, Otzar HaRabbanim 8755A], was one of the greatest, most well-known Torah scholars of his generation. Grandson of Rabbi Chaim Volozhin, served as leader of the Volozhin Yeshiva for a number of years. Served as Rabbi of Slutzk and Brisk and was famous for his tremendous acuity in Torah, speech and public leadership. His son is the Ga’on Rabbi Chaim Halevi Av Beit Din of Brisk
