Woodcut (uncolored) depicting the destruction of Jerusalem and the First Temple by Nebuzaradan, commander of the guard of Nebuchadnezzar King of Babylon, in the year 586 BCE.
According to Laor, this is only the second view of Jerusalem ever printed (Laor 1125).
Approx. 55X40 cm. Good condition. Tears to vertical folding mark. To holes to upper edge. Framed. Unexamined out of frame.

[Published by Alexander Hogg, Britain, ca. 1874]. Panorama of Jerusalem, an engraving colored by hand. The map was printed in the book "Millar's New Complete & Universal System of Geography" and in many of the copies appears at the top of the map the inscription "Engraved for Millar's New Complete & Universal System of Geography". This inscription does not appear in the copy offered here. Size of engraving 31X20.5 cm. Good condition. Some foxing.
