A medal awarded to the builders of the Hejaz Railway. The Ottoman Empire, 1900.
Obverse: a train, the Tughra of Abdul Hamid II and the year 1318 (1900).
The laying of the Hejaz railway started in 1900 at the behest of the Ottoman Empire Sultan Abdul Hamid II and was inaugurated in 1908. The railway ran from Damascus in Syria to El-Medina in Hejaz; a branch line from Haifa to the Syrian town of Dara'a went through Palestine.
Diameter: 30 mm. Pierced for hanging.

The exhibition, which opened in May 1931, displayed the rich and diverse cultures of colonial possessions, including Palestine.
Obverse: The Palestine pavilion at the exhibition above the legend "Exposition Coloniale Internationale Paris 1931". Reverse: an olive branch and the legend "Palestine" (Hebrew, English and Arabic). Signed: "L. Bazor".
Diameter: 32 mm.
Provenance: The Rimon Family Collection.

An illustrated share certificate of the Naroden Trud (Народень Трудь) company, a Jewish company for "saving and mutual aid" in Sofia (Bulgaria). On the top of the certificate, an illustration of a Star of David with a seven branched menorah in it.
20.5X31 cm. Good-fair condition. Fold lines. Minor stains. Tears to edges (some of them reinforced with strips of tape on verso). Trimmed margins.

Share certificate of Alexander Eliash & Co. Ltd., Bankers, Jerusalem, with ten coupons (numbered 1-10). The inscription "specimen" is printed in red on the certificate.
The bank was founded in 1931 by Alexander Eliash (1896-1967). Eliash, born in Uman, immigrated to Palestine in 1926, served as the president of the Bnei Brit organization and worked in favor of the Jewish Yishuv in Palestine. In 1968 the bank changed its name to "Otzar Chisachon" and in 1978 became the "North America Bank".
35.5X21.5 cm. Good condition. Creases and small tears to edges. Strips of tape on verso for reinforcement.

Two identical debenture certificates issued by the Jaysour Mortgage Bank Limited. Each with 21 coupons (numbered 1-21). The inscription "specimen" is printed in red ink on both certificates.
The Jaysour Mortgage Bank Limited was founded in September 1959 by the Jewish-Mexican businessman and philanthropist Elias Sourasky and operated until 1988.
Two certificates: 43X24 cm (including the coupons). Good condition. An open tear to the edge of the stub of coupons of one of the certificates.

43 paper labels (five different types) and a label pad for children, which were used by "Mifkad Totzeret HaAretz" ("locally produced goods census") during the months of Adar-Iyar 1937.
The paper labels were given in exchange for the purchase of locally produced goods. A child who filled three pads with labels was awarded a plant in the "Children's grove" in the JNF "Yishuv Forest" in Kiryat Anavim.
The pad (empty) and labels were not used.
Pad: 17 cm. Labels: approx. 2.5X1.5 cm. Very good condition.
Provenance: The Rimon Family Collection.

Unidentified writer, "Menachem son of Aharon", who signs at the end of the homily: "These are the words of Menachem son of Aaron, lover and pursuer of peace… Parashat Shlach, the year 5658, Vyetka, Gomel region, Mogilev on the Dnieper". Belarus, 1898. Yiddish, with a few words in Hebrew.
A homily on Parashat "Shlach Lecha" that tells the story of the twelve spies sent to assess the promised land. The homily deals with Hovevei Zion and the Zionist Movement in general, refers to its leaders – "the honest, righteous people Dr. Herzl and Max Nordau, Dr. Mandelstam and Dr. Baruch" – and connects the biblical story to current events, the state of the Jewish people and Palestine.
