Tabula geographica Terrae Sanctae, map of Palestine, edited by Jacques Bonfrère. Engraving from Kanaän en d'omleggende landen [Leeuwarden, Holland: Fraciscus Halma. 1717].
The map is east-oriented and depicts Palestine on both sides of the Jordan River, with the territories of the Tribes. The shoreline stretches from Byblos on the slopes of the Lebanon Mountain to the Nile Delta. With a key, compass and scale at bottom.
This map is a smaller scale version of the map of Palestine after Adrichom that was first published in 1631 (in Onomasticon urbium et locorum Sacrae Scripturae, by Jacques Bonfrère. Paris 1631).
Engraved map: 36.5X22 cm. Matted and framed: 84X39 cm. Good condition. Fold lines. Creases and minor stains. The paper is slightly browned. Small tears to edges. Minor blemishes.
