Piece of parchment shaped as a drop cut off at the head. In the center, in scribal script, appear the verse 'Essa Aynai el heharim…'. Decoration in blue and orange ink in vegetal patterns and letters below and above the text. On the bottom are incorporated the words "ad kan". Signed S. Yedidya. Bound with a partly unraveled rust-colored-wick, threaded through a hole on the bottom of the parchment.
Shlomo Yedidya (Salamon Seelenfreund) was born in 1875 in Szentes, Hungary. Studied art in Budapest. Worked and studied in Rome, Paris and Germany and later on returned to Hungary where he designed and decorated the new Neologist Synagogue in Szeged. Immigrated with his family to Eretz Israel in 1921, and after wandering in the country settled in Givatayim. Passed away in 1961.
Length of parchment 13 cm. Good-fair condition. Orange ink is faded. Wick is unraveled.
