"Hatikva" on a 78rpm Record - Germany, 1910
Opening: $300
Unsold
A 78 rpm record, made by Beka Company. Germany, [ca.1910]. Recorded on one side is the song "Dort wo die Zeder" [where the cedars are] sung by Leon Kalisch and on the other side "HaTikwa" [HaTikva"] in a Yiddish-Galician style, sung by the cantor Julius Guttmann. Both singers were members of the Jewish Theatre in Lvov (Jֳ¼dischen Theaters in Lemberg). To the best of our knowledge this is the first recording ever of "HaTikva". Good condition. Minor damages.
