Signature [with an illustrated frame]: “S. Zalman Axelrod Av Beit Din of congregation of Dalehinov”. Sheets of book contain dozens of erudite glosses (majority lengthy) in his fine handwriting, in which he debates at length with the author and critiques him with great genius.
Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Axelrod (born in 1860, Otzar HaRabbanim 18738), among the famous geniuses of Lithuania, Av Beit Din of Dolhinov and afterwards Av Beit Din of Palatzk. Authored a number of compositions (Divrei Shlomo, Menoraht Shlomo, Ner Ma’aravi, Gilayon Shlomo) which were not printed (mentions some of them in glosses of this book).
