Two Letters Handwritten and Signed by Rabbi Shmuel Greineman, Brother-in-Law of the Chazon Ish

Opening: $500
Unsold
Two letters handwritten and signed by R. Shmuel Greineman:
• Letter handwritten and signed by R. Shmuel Greineman, addressed to R. Moshe Porush (of the Central Agudath Israel in Jerusalem). New York, 1934.
R. Moshe Porush was working at that time on arranging immigration permits for the Chazon Ish and his family. R. Greineman writes that he heard from the Chazon Ish that his (R. Shmuel's) permit had been arranged and was being sent to him. R. Shmuel mentions his mission in the United States, and signs with yearning to celebrate the coming Passover in the Holy Land.
• Letter handwritten and signed by R. Shmuel Greineman. Jerusalem, 1933.
In this letter, R. Shmuel certifies that R. Feivel Eidelman (his brother-in-law) is rabbinically ordained by leading Polish rabbis, and serves as rabbi in Otwosk (presumably written for the purpose of obtaining an immigration permit).
