Sefer Ohr HaYashar, responsa, rulings and writings from the years 1766-1768 regarding the divorce of Kleve. Amsterdam, (1769). Only edition.
Following a divorce by a slightly unstable (paranoiac) man, which was performed by Rabbi Yisrael Lifshitz, Rabbi of Kleve, who ruled that the husband is not considered a "Shoteh" [fool] regarding his intention to divorce; this spurred the famous polemic which shook up the rabbinic world of that generation. Rabbi Yisrael himself printed his book "Ohr Yisrael" regarding this matter. This book contains responsa by Torah giants of that generation regarding the laws of the divorce, responses which comprised the basis of the halachic rulings of the Batei Din in the following generations.
