Sefer Meturgeman, Aramaic-Hebrew dictionary and explanations of the Aramaic language in the Targum on the Torah, by R. Eliyahu HaLevi Ashkenazi (R. Eliyahu HaBachur). Isny (Germany) 1541. First edition.
Ownership inscriptions on the title page in Italian Hebrew script: "Pinchas and Ya'akov Avraham Yerek", "Refael Chaim Yerek", "David Dalatos", "Avraham L…". Several long glosses in ancient Italian Hebrew script.
[4], 164, [2] leaves. Approx. 30 cm. good condition. Stains. Dampstains. The title page has a restored open tear [not affecting text]. Paper gluing for reinforcement of inner margins of several leaves. New, splendid leather binding.
That same year, another edition was printed which included Latin additions. Both editions are typographically identical, besides an additional title page and letter by the Latin printer and [6] supplementary leaves with the author's introduction in Hebrew and Latin at the end of the book which only appear in the Latin edition. The Hebrew introduction at the beginning of this copy is also slightly different and contains [4] leaves as opposed to [6] leaves in the parallel edition.
