Zichron Yosef, responsa and homilies by R. Yosef of Steinhart, rabbi of Fürth. Fürth: Itzek son of Leib B.B [Buchbinder], 1773. First edition.
At the top of the title page, signature of R. Yaakov Ketina (d. 1890), author of Rachamei Av, close disciple of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz and head of the Khust Beit Din.
[2], 24, [1], 25-46, 46-67, 67-119, [2] leaves. Lacking second leaf, with beginning of author's preface (see below). 31.5 cm. Fair-good condition. Stains, including dark dampstains. Wear. Open tears to title page and other leaves, affecting title page border and text, repaired in part with paper. Minor worming. New leather binding.
The author's preface contains sharp criticism of the Chassidic movement. Chassidim would often tear out these leaves; indeed the present copy is lacking the first leaf of the author's preface.
