R. Yaakov Zvi Meklenburg, Rabbi of Königsberg (1786-1865), prominent rabbi in his days, close disciple of R. Akiva Eger with study methods learned from the Vilna Gaon as apparent in his book HaK'tav VeHakabblah integrating the written Torah with the Oral Torah and often citing the books and writings of the Vilna Gaon. R. Yaakov Zvi also assisted in the printing of the writings of the Vilna Gaon, especially his kabbalistic works and took part in writing his biography in the book Aliyot Eliyahu. His unique composition HaK'tav VeHakabbalah inspired the famed commentaries of his contemporary and friend the Malbim (who succeeded R. Yaakov Zvi in the Königsberg rabbinate) on the Bible.
