Sketches for a book, 28 satiric caricatures - collages composed of drawings in black ink and photographs.Israel, 1965.
On the title page appears the text: "R.G.M. Rasco Golden Meyer is proud to present the film: the V.I.P's. Drawing and edition of photographs: A. Ben Yehuda". On the side of the leaf appears: "Authorized by censorship" (Hebrew).
"Rasco a company for agricultural and urban settlement Ltd" was founded in 1934 by the Jewish Agency and was engaged in building and developing industry in the country. In 1965 the company encountered financial difficulties and got aid from the government.
The caricatures offered here mention Rasco repeatedly and depict financial resources, administration and construction. Among the caricatures: a magician pulling out of his hat scissors and the Dollar sign, a prisoner's leg chained to an iron ball titled "Eilat" while his other leg is chained to an iron ball titled "Tel- Aviv", Ramat- Chen neighborhood is for sale, a man slides down a sinking graph, a woman rocks the logo of Rasco in a cradle, a man representing the planning department, the sales department and the construction department and a man hanging down a crane in a construction site.
Photographs of faces - most probably senior staff of the company - are integrated into the caricatures.
A form for development of photographs is enclosed, with a handwritten date - 27.4.65.
Most of the leaves: 33X24 cm. Good condition. Tears and stains at margins of some of the leaves.
