Manuscript of Sefer Gefen Yisrael commentary on ethics of the fathers, by Rabbi Israel Frankfurter, Rabbi of Tifereth Israel community of Paris. [1930s].
Novellae, homiletics and commentary according to chasidut (sayings of Komrna Admor, stories of the No'am Elimelech and his brother Rebbe Zushya, and more.) Printed in 1967 with mistakes (See: Wonder, Encyclopedia Galicia 4, page 343).
Rabbi Israel Frankfurter (1874-1943) was born in Lvov to his pious father Rabbi David, who in turn was a chasid of the Komrana Rabbi.
He was a brilliant scholar and a pious Jew, who wrote many important works: Da'at Yisrael on Hilchot De'ot by Maimonides, Be'er Yisrael Otzar Divrei Ge'onim U-Kedoshim, and Orchot Yisreal on Orchot Chaim LaRosh.
He arrived in Paris in 1927 and immediately became its Rabbi, until he was deported by the Nazis to Drancy and Auschwitz concentration camps, and was killed. See more about him in enclosed material.
