Unidentified. Many times, the author writes things which he heard from his master, Rabbi Yitzchak Chayut, Rabbi of Brody, who died in 1901. Somewhere in the text, the author writes that he is a grandson of the Pnei Yehoshua and of Rabbi Yitzchak HaLevi Hurwitz of Hamburg.
The author cites Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin, Rabbi Shalom of Belz, Rabbi Shimon of Shpitovka, Rabbi Yehonatan Eybeschutz, Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Kossiv, the author of the Minchat Chinuch. He also makes much use of the book Or HaChaim.
