Lechem Shamayim, on the Mishnayot, Part I (Zera'im-Moed), with Binyan Beit HaBechirah, by R. Yaakov Emden (the Yaavetz). Wandsbek: Yisrael bar Avraham, [1733]. First edition.

The Yaavetz's first published book and the only one of his books not printed in Altona, where he established his printing press. An illustration on verso of title page depicts the altar according to the Raavad.


Important ownership. Many stamps of R. Yerucham Fishel Perla, from the time he lived in Jerusalem (most somewhat indistinct). Signatures. Gloss in Rashi script on p. 27a. Stamps and bookplate of the Gesundheit Library in Tel Aviv and of the Shaalvim yeshiva library.


R. Yehuda Yerucham Fishel Perla of Warsaw (1846-1934), tremendous Torah scholar in Poland and Jerusalem. Renowned for his masterpiece on Sefer HaMitzvot by R. Saadia Gaon.
