The story of Samson, including the original text from the Hebrew Bible with English translation. Illustrations incorporated in the text and 20 original etchings, signed and numbered, by Viennese artist Ernst Fuchs (some etchings are double-spreads).
The book consists of unbound signatures in a cardboard portfolio, held in original stiff cardboard case. Numbered copy, 81/90, out of an edition of 100 copies. Artist's signature on colophon.
Ernst Fuchs (1930-2015) - painter, printmaker, sculptor and architect. Born in Vienna to a Jewish father and lived most of his life there. His artistic style tended towards surrealism and fantasy. Fuchs founded the Viennese school of fantastic realism and often portrayed Biblical motifs.

"Maison Tellier", a story by Guy de Maupassant; copied by hand and illustrated by László (Ladislas) Barta (1902-1961), a Jewish-Hungarian artist active in France.
Fine and accurate calligraphic writing with forty watercolor drawings (some integrated in the text, some page-size, and two double-page spread illustrations); signed by the artist. The title page is illustrated as well.
The book leaves are not bound, but rather placed in an impressive cover, also illustrated by Barta (gouache on Bristol sheet).

Bruges la morte, Georges Ropdenbach. Edition illustree de Dix Huit Pastels de Lévy-Dhurmer. Paris: Javal & Bordeaux, 1930. French.
"Bruges la Morte" (French: Bruges the Dead), an important symbolist novel by the Belgian author Georges Ropdenbach. This edition is accompanied by prints done after aquarelles by the Jewish Artist Lévy-Dhurmer.
Copy 15/15, printed on Japanese paper, out of an edition of 170 copies, which includes in addition to the 18 original engravings, a folder with 72 additional prints – a complete set of 18 prints, and 3 sets of color separations – one set in each of the printing colors. The book is not bound. The leaves, in multiples of four pages, are contained in a binding covered with green fabric, contained in the original case, also covered with green fabric.
Lucien Lévy-Dhurmer (1865-1953), a Symbolist / Art Nouveau artist. Dhurmer was a French Jew of Algerian origin. Besides painting and drawing he was also involved in the creation of ceramic, design of furniture and interior design. His works are exhibited in important museums all over the world. Enclosed is a card handwritten by Lévy- Dhurmer.
