The first book published by A. B. Cerata, which is also the first in the series of books called "Shir Kalektsie", named after the father of the painter Benn - Shlomo Ya'akov Rabinovitch - who died in the Bialistok Ghetto. Printed in 360 copies.
Benn - Ben-Zion Rabinovitch, born in Bialistok in 1905. Lived in Paris from 1930. During the Nazi occupation he was detained and released following the intervention of influential friends. He then hid out with his wife for over two years, during which he created the series of illustrations in this book.
At the beginning of the book is a dedication in Benn's handwriting to H. Leivick (Leivick Halpern - a Yiddish poet, playwright and author), with a small illustration of a dove.

The Book of Jonah with wood engravings by the British artist David Jones. The book was published in an edition totalling 470 copies, including 10 copies printed on vellum with an additional set (portfolio) of 39 wood engravings, identical to the ones in the book, printed on vellum, Japanese paper and handmade paper - 13 of each kind. The present volume is copy B, printed on vellum. The leather binding, decorated with a gilt design of a whale and sea waves, is signed on the inner binding “Sangorski & Sutcliffe”.
The book and portfolio are held in the original cardboard slipcase. Enclosed an advertising pamphlet about the book with a wood engraving, and a client’s order form and three letters handwritten on official stationery, written by the publisher Douglas Cleverdon to the copy’s buyer.

Fine and accurate calligraphic writing with forty watercolor drawings (some integrated in the text, some page-size, and two double-page spread illustrations); signed by the artist. The title page is illustrated as well.
The book leaves are not bound, but rather placed in an impressive cover, also illustrated by Barta (gouache on Bristol sheet).

"Bruges la Morte" (French: Bruges the Dead), an important symbolist novel by the Belgian author Georges Ropdenbach. This edition is accompanied by prints done after aquarelles by the Jewish Artist Lévy-Dhurmer.
Copy 15/15, printed on Japanese paper, out of an edition of 170 copies, which includes in addition to the 18 original engravings, a folder with 72 additional prints – a complete set of 18 prints, and 3 sets of color separations – one set in each of the printing colors. The book is not bound. The leaves, in multiples of four pages, are contained in a binding covered with green fabric, contained in the original case, also covered with green fabric.
Lucien Lévy-Dhurmer (1865-1953), a Symbolist / Art Nouveau artist. Dhurmer was a French Jew of Algerian origin. The booklet was graphically designed and illustrated by Berthold Löffler, a Viennese artist belonging to the Wiener Secession and a member of the Wiener Werkstätte.
On the top and bottom of each leaf is a decoration in green with a motif taken from the design of the cover and title page.

A book, catalogues and booklets related to Herwarth Walden (1879-1941), a Jewish-German artist, curator, founder of the periodical "The Storm" (Der Sturm), as well as a publishing house and art gallery.
The book "Expressionism, the turning point in art" published by Walden in 1918 (item no. 1), includes essays about the expressionist movement and the prominent artists of the movement with reproductions of important works. The book also includes two original woodcuts by the artists Arnold Topp and Jacoba von Heemskerck and two lino-cuts by the artist Rudolf Bauer. In addition offered here are catalogues of exhibitions and booklets about modern art published by Walden, as well as a catalogue of an exhibition of his wife Nell Walden's art collection, exhibited in Basel, Switzerland in 1943, two years after his death.
Walden, born as Georg Levine, was married for a decade to the Jewish-German poet Elsa Lasker Schuller, who gave him the name by which he was known. Being a communist, he fled Germany in the early 1930s fearing the Nazis, and went to the Soviet Union, where he was persecuted due to his relations with Avant-garde art. He died in the Soviet prison in 1941.
