"Three thousand and two hundred copies of this book were printed… the book's illuminations and illustrations… done by Joseph Budko in Berlin… the first two hundred copies were printed on very thick paper, and the woodcuts are from the artist's original woodcuts, all marked according to order in letters from Aleph to Resh, signed by the author and the artist, bound in parchment and not for sale on the market…". The four volumes are signed by Haim Nachman Bialik and Joseph Budko on the colophon; not numbered. 4 volumes, 25 cm. Good condition. Some stains within the books. Some stains and damages to bindings.

Michel Fingesten (1883-1943), a Czeck-Jewish painter and graphic designer, active in Berlin. After the rise of the Nazi party to power he fled to Italy, where he was arrested in a concentration camp. Fingesten died several days after the liberation of the camp by the British army. [2] leaves, 67 pp, [1] leaf + [10] engraving plates, 28.5 cm. Fine binding with parchment spine and a gold embossing. Good condition. Some stains within the book. Foxing at edges of leaves. Some damages to binding.
