An extensive and impressive collection of maps of Eretz Israel and the vicinity and illustration plates from voyage and exploration books – about 100 lithographs, wood-cuts and engravings, some colored by hand.
Most of the maps and plates are from the 17th – 18th centuries; some are earlier while others are later.
The collection includes, amongst others:

Incomplete copy: pamphlet no. 6 (four leaves) is missing. Bound with "Tevu'ot HaAretz" (part two of Sefer Divrei Yossef) and with the books "Tozaot HaAretz" and "Ma'ase HaAretz". Sceintific and Halachic study of Eretz Israel. Jerusalem, 1845. [8], 70, [6] leaves (leaf no. 4 missing); [2], 156, [3] leaves; 54 leaves. (Five title pages). 15 cm. Good condition. The Kabbalist researcher, Gaon Rabbi Yehossef Schwarz, of the first researchers of Eretz Israel in modern times; was born in Germany in 1804, arrived in Jerusalem in 1833 and died in 1865. His books are still a foundation stone for discussions regarding the country's matters, in the biblical-halachic fields of study as well as in the scientific-historical research of Eretz Israel.

Between the first and second title page appears a "map of the Holy Land with all of the sites surrounding it", in Hebrew and Russian. [1], 24 pp including a map in color. 24 cm, good-fair condition, loose binding, faded leaves, several holes.

On upper right side: "Jerusalem" and the verse -"If I forget thee Jerusalem…" The map is drawn by hand, in clear and precise handwriting. Numerous sites are marked on the map: the Ophel, the Wall prior to the destruction, railway station in the German Colony, Army barracks in Bak'a, The Jewish Agency building next to King George Street and Palace Hotel. On the upper left a small scale map of the Jerusalem vicinity with different marks for Jewish and Arab settlements.

The Holy Land, Egypt, Constantinople, Athens, Etc. Etc. – A Series of Forty-Eight Photographs, Taken by Francis Bedford… With Descriptive Text and Introduction by W. M. Thompson. London: Day & Son, [1866].
Book with 48 albumen prints by the photographer Francis Bedford (1816-1894). Bedford started to be involved with photography in the 1850s. In 1862, he received a royal appointment from Queen Victoria to accompany Edward, His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, on his journey to the Holy Land, and in the capacity of royal photographer to photograph the region during their travels. The photos present in this book were taken during their journey.
Each photo 9.5X12cm, mounted on a board and titled in the plate. VII, 99 pp, 48 photo plates, volume 25cm. Good condition, binding and several leaves detached, rebound with original front cover pasted down. Slight spotting. One plate quite dirty. Some leaves distorted. Photos in good condition. Restored binding. Ink stamps of previous owners.
