Hejaz Railway medal. The Ottoman Empire, 1900.
Obverse: illustration of a train, Tughra of Abdul Hamid II and the year 1318 (1900).
The Hejaz railway was started in 1900 at the behest of the Ottoman Empire Sultan Abdul Hamid II and was inaugurated in 1908. The railway ran from Damascus in Syria to El-Medina in Hejaz; a branch line from Haifa to the Syrian town of Dara'a went through Eretz Israel.
Diameter: 30 mm. Pierced for hanging.

1-2. Two pendants. Silver (marked).
Obverse: Map of Eretz Israel prior to the conquest of the southern Negev, Jeep, boat and airplane. Reverse: "Ki Mal'achav Yetzave Lecha Leshomrecha Bechol Derachecha" (Hebrew) and underneath - "Yerushalem". Diameter: 17 mm, 23 mm. Hangers.
3. Medallion in the style of "Judea Capta" coins (coins struck by the Romans to celebrate the capture of Judea). Obverse: The image which appears on "Judea Capta" coins – a Roman soldier and a leaning woman (symbolizing the captured nation). Between them – a palm tree (symbol of Judea). Around this image appears the inscription "Judea Captive 70 C.E" and an inscription in Hebrew. Reverse: The same palm tree and next to it two figures – a woman holding a baby and a man planting, surrounded by an inscription "Liberated Israel 1948" (in Hebrew and in English).
