Menorah – Judisches Familienblatt fur Wissenschaft, Kunst und Literature, [Menorah – Illustrated journal for the Jewish home / journal for science, art and literature]. The monthly journal "Menorah" dealing with Jewish culture was published during the years 1923-1932. After the third year the sub-title was altered.
The introduction to the first issue says: "Hebrew papers that appear now have a limited goal: political or religious. This journal's aim is to assist in establishing bridges between the various trends in Judaism and unite them on a common basis…this journal is for the Jewish home and Jewish family – both of which have always been like a fortress for Judaism".
The journal includes many articles about art. Amongst the artists: Marc Chagall, Max Liebermann, Channah Orloff, Maurici Gottlieb, Ya'akov Steinhardt and others; the writers and authors include Dubnov, Isaak Babel, Achad Ha'am, Meir Balaban, Sholem Asch, Arthur Schnitzler and others. Volume containing the six issues of the periodical "Rimon", printed concurrently with its Yiddish version "Milgroim". "Rimon" was the first Hebrew periodical dealing with plastic arts. The periodical – as well as other publications by the same publishing house – were printed with much attention to their meticulous, colorful and impressive look, and their good quality printing. Works by leading artists and writers are included in the issues, amongst them: A. Lissitzky, Tchaikov, Budko; Bialik, Agnon, Tchernichovsky, and others. Volume 30.5 cm. Good condition. Stains, adhesive tape for fastening the first pages, damaged binding.

Manners at the table, while playing and at the night, composed by the scholar Peretz ben Yitzchak Ber. [Central Europe, early 19th century].
Copy in fine handwriting, of good manners, composed by the scholar Peretz Ber (1758-1838). The manners were printed in his book "Toldot Israel" (Prague, 1796).
Amongst the manners: "do not be the first to choose a nice portion from the bowl", the knife, fork and spoon hold properly in your hand", "watch for dogs and cats and do not provoke them, do not play with them and do not hurt them", "even when you feel that it is warm and you perspire, do not undress", etc. The first words of each rule are emphasized in size and color. [7] pp, 17 cm. Fair-good condition. Wear, stains and creases. Last page – chopped.

A long letter, concerning mainly the status of Jews in Belarus under the rule of Czar Alexander III, when rights of Jews have been limited and their political status deteriorated, during the period following the murder of Czar Alexander II and "Sufot BaNegev" pogroms.
Yehuda Leib Levine (YAHALEL 1844-1925) – publicist, essayist, poet and Hebrew author, of the first members of "Chibat Zion". Shaul Pinchas Rabinovitch (SHEFER 1845-1910) – author and historian, of the first members of "Chovevei Zion". [1] leaf 26.5 cm, written on both sides of the leaf. Fair condition. An interesting letter, in which Agnon announces that he sent a "small Tefilin bag" as a Bar Mitzvah gift for Marx's son, and to Marx himself he sent the book "Osseh Pele". Further in his letter Agnon mentions "rare" books which he acquired: "if I had the desire I could have bought quite some rare books since I am famous now amongst all the elders of Jerusalem and everybody is running after me"; and Agnon continues: "I am sitting and working every single day and thanks to the city of Jerusalem…I wrote some nice things which, unfortunately, I must publish in the ugly letters of our printers". Signed: "Yours, S.Y". At the end of the letter appears a list of "regards" to people. Moshe Marx (1885-1973) was a bibliographist and Jewish librarian, of Soncino Gesellschaft Society founders.
