Miniature Torah scroll in Sephardic handwriting. Apparently written during the early 20th century, for an individual who presumably used it while traveling. The Scroll is presently not kosher for Torah reading. Written upon greased parchment. Repairs in a number of places in an attempt to make it kosher. As well, a number of sheets replaced in different writing.

15 columns of varying widths on three parchment sheets, sawn to each other in antique sewing. In some of the verses, the letters of the Shem Ha-Meforash are accentuated at the beginning or the endings of the words. [A Chasidic, Kabala based custom].
Total size: 13.5X130cm. Good-fair condition. Tears and missing bits at the opening of the Megilah. Stains, some of which are dark, mainly on the first columns.

Wimple [sash for the Torah, made of a diaper of a baby in his circumcision, according to the custom of Ashkenazi Jews]. With the writing: "Klonimus son of Ya'akov…". [Germany], 1911.
The text is in green and red with golden decorations. Vegetal and floral illustrations, a butterfly, a berries bush, a Torah, canopy and Maggen-David. One of the letters "ל" is in the shape of a stork's head. Under the baby's name appears the artist's(?) name in German: Karl Ernest Haÿum.
280X21cm. Good condition. Few stains, folding marks.

Parchment scroll, with prayers in memory of the souls, Mi She-Berach for the Gaba’im to be recited after Yizkor and a list of the deceased names. "Ein mol fir die alle Harugim fun der Milchama, from the year 1917". [USA? the 1920’s].
The first page mentions the names of the president and the vice president in the prayer of “Mi She-Berach”.
Adorned frames, some of the deceased names were written at the beginning in fine calligraphy, and some of them later on, in simpler writing and with different pens. The last two columns mention women’s names. About 150 names in total.
About 250,000 Jews served in the USA military ranks during WWI, many of whom were young immigrants; approximately 3,500 lost their lives and about 120,000 were injured.

1. “Takanot Beit Ha-Kenesset Ha-Gadol ‘Kehal Israel’”. Leaf with the regulations made by the synagogue committee, a list of the Gabayim, their duties and the committee’s decisions which apply to the congregation. On the bottom it is written: “All of this has been approved by the great Rabbi Israel Abuhatzeira".
Rabbi Israel Abuhatzeira (The Baba Sali) immigrated to Israel in 1951and lived in the Baka’a neighborhood of Jerusalem, there he prayed in this synagogue [he chose this synagogue in order to hide his genius]. However, after three years, when he got wind of the spiritual decline of the Moroccan Jews, he went back to Morocco to encourage them.
The regulation leaf comes in a wood and glass frame.
2. Wooden board with specific emplacements for time plaques mentioning service hours for every day of the year. One plaque is enclosed, it says: “at 6:30”.

A book with 15 cardboard cards with slits for putting small slips of paper with numbers. Under every slit there is a caption – Tzedaka, Bought, ח"ק in Hebrew, and Torah Study, Visiting the Sick, Yeshiva, Jerusalem, and many others in Hungarian. The writing on all the cards is identical, but some of the cards are empty. Only the first four cards have slips of paper inside.
Enclosed is a cardboard card, which says "First" on one side, and "Cohen" on the other side.
Since the gabba'im are unable to write the pledges made by the congregants on Shabbat, many original alternatives to this have been found throughout history. This notebook is one example of such an alternative. [Regarding additional solutions, see Kedem catalogue, sale 2, items 212-213].
