Certificate of seat ownership in the Ashkenazi synagogue in Amsterdam. [1779].
“This is to verify that the seat which was reregistered… in the great synagogue… in the men’s section, first seat of the bench… belongs to Rabbi Leib son of Rabbi Yoel Redish…”.
Printed on parchment. At head of certificate emblem of “Amsterdam Ashkenazi Congregation”. Filled in with handwriting and signatures in fluent Ashkenazi writing. Seven of the managers / leaders of the congregation signed in handwriting.
Parchment [partially processed] certificate. 32 cm. Good condition. Stains.
