Rabbi Avraham Ebn Ezra [of the Izmir sages, 1690-1761]. Salonika, [1806]. (Moth damages). There is a signed auto-dedication on leaf 2 by Rabbi “Rafael Wazana” from Izmir. Several glosses and insights in Oriental handwriting.
2. Mateh Ephraim, on Maimonides and commentaries, by Rabbi Ephraim Ardit. [Salonika, 1791]. Missing title page and first leaves, additional leaves are damaged or missing. Glosses by several writers in Oriental handwriting, one of them is signed as “Ha A.I.N” and the other as “Ha-Mevi"n”.

On Leaf 2 and on Leaf 61 there are signatures and owners' inscriptions of Rabbi Aharon Franco [the glosses of learned content are apparently his]. On Leaf 6 of the Rosh, Ladino inscriptions.

Erudite handwritten glosses. In one of the comments he mentions “see my book T. M.”. Apparently, the writer is Rabbi Menachem Mendel Av Beit Din of Biala, author of Tiferet Menachem on Yevamot, Piotrkow, 1906.
[2], 96 leaves, approximately 31 cm. Good condition. Cardboard and cloth binding. Some of the glosses are cut off.

1. Mishnayot, including the commentary of Rabbi Ovadia of Bartenura and the Tosfot Yom Tov. Seder Taharot. Vienna, 1793. Title page with illustration of “Rabeinu HaKadosh[!]”.
2. Babylonian Talmud, tractates Zvachim and Menachot. Vienna, [1796]. Title page with illustration.
Both volumes consist of erudite glosses, signed “N.B.CH.”, apparently, Rabbi Naftali Kahn, signed in the Mishnayot volume.
Signatures and various notations in the volume of the Mishnayot: “G-D endowed me with this, Naftali Kahn”, “Yishaya Kahn son of Rabbi N. from Hermannstadt“, “Yishaya Rata”. Interesting notation: “… since I am a foreigner from another country I am writing my name as a remembrance that I have taught in this village by the Torah scholar Rabbi Shlomo Zalman in the summer of 1834. May G-D help me that I quickly return to my country… the country of Poland ruled by King Yohn… Stashov, from the city of Torah scholars and righteous people. I would certainly not have come here if not for the decree that I cannot remain in my country… Leibish Michel”.

On the title leaf owner's inscription in antique handwriting: "Belonging to Rabbi Zvi Hirsh son of Rabbi Tanchum of Volknik" [a city near Vilna]. Apparently, he is Rabbi Zvi Hirsh son of Rabbi Tanchum Rabbi of Horodna (Grodno), author of Zera Gad on the Passover Haggadah (Otzar HaRabbanim 17108, died in 1831), brother of Rabbi Yissachar Ber of Vilna, author of Ma'ase Rav.

Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich, Rabbi of Shamlau (Simleul Silvaniei, 1863-1944, Otzar HaRabbanim 18739) was the grandson of Rabbi Avraham Yehuda Schwartz, author of Kol Aryeh, Rabbi of Mad. A Kabbalist ga'on, one of Hungary's leading Orthodox Rabbis and halachic authorities, a chassid of the Rebbe, author of Kedushat Yom Tov of Siget, and a close friend and admirer of the Rebbe's son, Rebbe Yoel of Satmar. Among his books: Responsa Lechem Shlomo, Tiyul BaPardes, Rachame Ha'Av etc. Rabbi Shalom Eliezer of Retzfert said about him that The Rabbi of Shamlau was unparalleled in his generation in answering halachic questions, and Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Freund of Nasuad, a leader of thousands of chassidim, would humble himself before him. The Darchei T'shuva called him "The Second Sha'agat Aryeh".
