Tzemach Hashem LiTzvi, Chassidic essays on the Torah, by R. Tzvi Hirsh of Nadvorna. [Berditchev (Berdychiv): R. Yisrael Bak, ca. 1818]. First edition.
The author, Rebbe Tzvi Hirsh of Nadvorna (1740-1802), was one of the leading third-generation Chassidic rebbes. Disciple of the Maggid of Mezeritch and R. Yechiel Michel of Zlotchov, who said that R. Tzvi Hirsh was the greatest of his disciples and that Eliyahu HaNavi desires his company.


[3], 28; 138 leaves. 21 cm. Fair condition. Many stains, including dampstains and dark stains to several leaves. Open tears to title page and additional leaves, affecting text in several places, partially restored with paper and paper filling (with text supplied in facsimile to several leaves). Worming, affecting text, partially restored with paper filling. Stamps. New leather binding.
