The author, Rebbe Tzvi Hirsh of Nadvorna (1740-1802), was one of the leading third-generation Chassidic rebbes. Disciple of the Maggid of Mezeritch and R. Yechiel Michel of Zlotchov, who said that R. Tzvi Hirsh was the greatest of his disciples and that Eliyahu HaNavi desires his company.

Open tears to title page and additional leaves, affecting text in several places, partially restored with paper and paper filling (with text supplied in facsimile to several leaves).
