Two Papier-mâché boxes with illustrations depicting Jewish scenes. [Germany, 19th century]. 1. Rectangular box. Illustration of a father hitting his son with a stick; next to them stands the mother holding a baby. An inscription below the illustration reads: “Chasten thy son, seeing there is hope” (Hebrew) (Proverbs 19:18). Length: 8 cm, width: 12 cm, height: 2.5 cm. Good condition. Some damages. 2. Small box, round. Illustration of a woman lighting Shabbat candles in a lamp hanging above a dinner table. Diameter: 5 cm, height: 2 cm. Good condition. Some damages. Cracks.
